As we reach the end of the holiday season and the end of 2023, "peace on earth and goodwill towards men" seems more elusive than ever. Nonetheless, I continue to be heartened by the many heroes I have encountered that remain committed to upholding and improving our democracy.
As we approach the 2024 elections, we will be bombarded with information, misinformation, and disinformation about candidates, issues, and even about the election process. Much of my work in the upcoming year will be with the Center for Electoral Quality and Integrity (CEQI) as we partner with organizations and election officials that are working to safeguard our elections.
We have recently developed a map of key electoral processes that is being vetted to determine its accuracy, completeness, and utility. Here is a link to additional information on the Operations System map and CEQI's work.
This month's social media posts:
Lessons from Braver Angels for contructively engaging with and for deepening relationships with people who don't agree with you
Information on how business leaders are attempting to address the root causes of dysfunctional politics and preparing internally to take effective action
Profile of an election official from a small county in Northwestern Ohio
Also, this month I added a link to Forward Party under my Regional Differences principle . A reminder that under each of my eight good government principles there is a resources section with links to organizations whose work supports each principle.
Have a safe and happy New Year.
